C*R*A*P* You don't even get what you pay for...
Don't waste your money. Pay a little more for better quality. In 3 years I replaced this camera 3 times. They keep sending me a new one, and each time it stops working within months. The batteries don't charge. I can't even use the thing. I bought my husband a $50 digital and got way more life out of it. After trying to charge this camera for a few days, it won't even turn on anymore. Bought new batteries, and nothing. Don't waste YOUR money.

I'm on the fence about my camera-
I've had my camera for over a month now. It comes with ONLY a rechargable battery, & the battery seems to die within 10 minutes after using the flash too much- then you have to have a place to re-plug it in to recharge- that's my main problem- Pics do come out fuzzy/blurred sometimes, but that could be due to a non-steady hand. The video does come out great, daylight is best, or well lit situations, and the sound is great also, doesn't sound like a cheap "underwater" mircochip recording. I don't like the fact that each time you turn it on, the lens fully extends and stays that way weather you zoom in or not- The camera on the outside seems cheap- the first day I used it, some of the lettering on the top rubbed off- and it came with a real cheesy, non-protective camera "pouch". I have taken some really great indoor pics though- you can choose which size pixels you want and the camera has room for an extra memory chip- the one it comes with can take about 90 pictures (at 3 mega pixels)OR 4/5 minutes of video.( you CANNOT zoom while video filiming-you have to stop and then zoom in or out then record again) It's not slim- kinda bulky, compared to other cameras on the market now, but seems okay for me- Came with a table top tripod, battery, cords for recharging and for usb hook up to computer- Also comes with a cord to hook it up TV for better view of seeing and taking pics, and the quality was great on the tv-and you can set it to take from 2 to 50 pictures between 30sec to 30minutes each- You can change the ISO from either 100, 200, or 400.(you can also choose the mega pixel size on the camera- there is 0.3- 3.- 5.- and 6.5 )
If I had the chance to return it for a refund or store credit- I totally would- READ ALL REVIEWS BEFORE BUYING! Thats what I didn't do-Cheaper AND Larger mega pixels doesn't mean better!(I would say there's more bad than good on this one)Good luck and happy hunting!

A Piece of CRAP!!! Do NOT Buy!!!!!
I bought this camera in January- it is now April and its barely working!

PROS:
*** What attracted me to this camera were the supposedly great features that it offered- 6.5 mp, mp3 player, voice recorder, video/ camcorder, webcam

* The video feature is nice- videos are clear enough and the sounds are clear enough as well.

* Takes ok pictures- but you have to know the camera though.

CONS:
* The camera will NOT charge the batteries at all. I thought that the batteries were dead so i bought a new battery AND an external charger and fully charged the new battery- when I put it in the camera, it was still saying the batteries are dead! When I use the adopter, it works fine- BUT I CAN'T USE AN ADOPTOR EVERYWHERE!! Defective! Defective! Defective! Something is SERIOUSLY wrong with this thing.

* When you snap a picture, the screen blanks for waaaaay toooo long!

* All of a sudden, the webcam feature stop working- you are welcomed by a BLANK screen! (The webcam is not being recognised!)

* Sometimes when I think I took a picture- its not taken.

* Any little shake causes the pictures to come out blurry

* Too bulky- many times I had to change my hand bag because its too big to hold inside.

SUMMARY:
I am VERY much disappointed in this camera- Just a few days ago I had to go and spend more money to buy a new camera after owning this one for just 3 months! Where I am, returning it to the manufacturer to fix may eventually cost me just as much as I spend to buy it.

DO NOT ALLOW THE FANCY FEATURES TO CATCH YOU TOO!!
My advise- buy name brands you are familiar with!!

Quality control
The 8.0-megapixel sensor allows for creative cropping while providing enough detail for large, high-quality prints. A new Safety Zoom takes advantage of the camera's high resolution to offer extra zoom magnification without affecting image quality--up to 16x zoom when shooting Small size images. Users can also activate the Digital Teleconverter to add extra telephoto reach on all shots, similar to adding a teleconverter lens to the camera.

The 4x optical zoom lens achieves a 35-140mm focal length (35mm equivalent) while allowing the camera to maintain a compact size. The lens construction incorporates 8 elements in 7 groupings, including two aspherical elements to maximize sharpness across the whole image. With a maximum aperture range of f2.8 (wide) to f4.1 (telephoto), the lens is remarkably bright at the telephoto end.

ISO 800 mode improves results when shooting in low-light settings and enables flash-free photography indoors. The camera's High ISO Auto setting prioritizes fast shutter speeds by automatically using the higher range of ISO sensitivities, reducing the risk of unwanted image blur.

Improved LCD and playback
A larger 2.5-inch vari-angle LCD screen enables accurate framing from unusual angles, such as those encountered when using the 1-centimeter (.4-inch) Macro mode. Flexible shooting
The PowerShot A630 offers users a range of versatile features for creative photography. A choice of 21 shooting modes includes Program, Aperture priority, Shutter priority, and full Manual modes for complete exposure control. A Second Curtain Sync function allows for creative flash exposures, such as light trails. Artistic photo effects can be applied in-camera during and after shooting with My Colors.

Each scene is analyzed and cross-referenced against Photographic Space--a vast in-camera library of photographic data. This enables the camera to make optimal adjustments to autoexposure, autofocus, and auto white balance before image capture occurs.

9-Point AiAF
Canon's 9-point AiAF (Artificial Intelligence Autofocus) automatically scans and selects subjects from a set of nine focusing areas across the scene. This ensures accurately focused images even when subjects are not in the center of the frame.

FlexiZone AF/AE
FlexiZone AF/AE lets users manually select the focus point from almost any point in the frame by moving the autofocus window in the viewfinder. Exposure can be linked to the focus point to ensure that the chosen subject is accurately focused and the scene correctly exposed.

Digital Teleconverter and Safety Zoom
Similar to placing an accessory lens on the front of the camera, Canon's Digital Teleconverter adds a constant digital zoom to every shot (1.6x/2.0x). While optical converter lenses cause a reduction in aperture and consequently require a slower shutter speed, the Digital Teleconverter maintains aperture size, reducing the risk of image blur.

The only brand i trust.
This camera does some amazing things. I love it. Not as sleek as the other cameras but i don't care. I'll take it with me where I can. I love the color accent features and takes great videos. Sometimes the format isn't compatible and can't upload to youtube but w/ a couple tries I get it. I love this camera. It was dropped a few times. I am determined to replace it w/ the exact same one. I've had it for a year and a half.

Canon A630
We owned the previous model of this camera and loved it. This one is basically the same design with a few improvements on the casing. My absolute favorite - and MUST have - feature is the flip out and rotate display screen. We use the self portrait feature a lot so that is ultimately important to us.

ISO 200 and above too noisy
Sometimes I wonder if someone slipped me the wrong camera.

My Canon A95 was such a wonderful thing; flip and turn LCD screen, good clear shots, relatively fast speed (2.8), great for macros. But somewhere, the A630 just leaves me missing my A95 (the first camera met a salty demise in one of those camera "baggies" in the Gulf of Mexico looking for jewfish).

First I'll tell you what I did find to be pros about the camera:

-Flip and turn lcd - big and it FLIPS AND TURNS. Very nice for macros and sneaky shots.

-Quick shutter button reaction - you don't have to wait forever between pushing the shutter and actually taking the picture. It's almost instantaneously in my experience.

-You can use accessories with it - buy an off brand extension and you can put polarizing filters (i highly recommend this), a Cokin set with a ND graduated filter and your landscape or sunrise/set shots will suddenly get much greater. Even without anything on the extension, it acts like a hood and keeps glare from marring a shot.

-This is my camera of choice for macros and infrared shots (using a filter). You can get millimeters away from things. It's amazing. It's like having a microscope with 100x magnifier.
And my main camera (an EOS digital Canon camera) doesn't have the advantage of actually seeing through the infrared filter (which is a deep red/almost black), so it's difficult to frame shots. The A630 lets you see through the filter on the LCD screen.

Now, the not so hot;

-You're limited in the use of your ISO. Anything over 200 is unusable in my opinion (and 200 is not that hot either). Any ISO under 100 is unusable without a tripod or hands of steel.

-The size. Not small enough to tuck in your pocket. I really wish it were. This is supposed to be my little camera.

-Photo quality. I know this camera should take better pictures than my A95 but I'm just not convinced it does.

All in all, get it for a reallyreally good price and you should be happy. :)

Not worth it
Picture quality is horrible and that's with decent light. Forget anything darker than a very bright room.
The overlay thing can be kind of fun for the kids but the almost indistinguishable photo part will keep it from lasting.
It's fairly sturdy, more than a standard camera anyway.
You're better off getting a used 1 or 2 megapixel camera at the same price.

For some reason I can't give this thing less than 2 stars. It really only gets a 1 from me.

this camera stinks
you can hardly see the screen, the pictures come out with terrible quality and it was difficult for my daughter to use.

For Play only
I paid $50 not worth it. If inside even with a flash picture turns out very dark. The preview window is worthless. Outdoor pictures okay if you stand very still. It's listed $20 now. I would not pay no more than $20 for kids five and under. Older child would expect better pictures.

A great entry level point and shoot - with reservations
We've used Canon point and shoots for several years and without a doubt they consistently take the best photos. Bought this as an entry-level replacement camera for my husband (who unfortunately dropped his last one), and who is not very technically minded. And he absolutely loves it and is taking much better photos now. This is a great point-and-shoot camera for a beginner, or someone who doesn't want to mess with settings - or as a back-up if you have a much bigger better camera and just want something that will fit in your pocket, but still give you a great quality photo.

This model includes face recognition, which seems to be the latest trend now - but it works just great. Said husband always used to manage to take out of focus pictures whenever there were two people in the shot - because the camera would focus between them - face recognition successfully resolves that problem.

Image stabilization helps to avoid the blurs. Also offers great quality movies that you can zoom in and out of while shooting.

However - it is quite tricky to access the great choice of pre-defined settings: the usual suspects such as indoor, outdoor, sports, etc. and some great extras like fireworks, aquarium, underwater, kids, color swap (there's more). They are a couple of menus deep, and not very intuitive to find. We never use these settings, and still manage to get good shots 99/100. But - they're there for the beginner who wants to be a little more adventurous. Also, the zoom button is a little difficult to manoever. It comes with a printed manual (rare these days) that really does give excellent instruction on how to use all the different modes.

In summary - if you want an entry level point-and-shoot that is pretty much guaranteed to give you beautiful quality pictures, this is your camera.

I bought two of these for my kids because they were so cheap. I didn't expect them to be great, but my kids won't even use them. They don't function easily, the pictures are fuzzy and they don't hold many pictures.

great beginner camera
This is a great camera for the price... for an early elementry aged child. Old enough to be somewhat responsible and not drop constantly. Takes best pictures outdoors. Not so good inside. We added a memory card and some rechargeable batteries along with a padded camera case and are very pleased with the purchase. Resolution is good up to 4 x 6 print.

Take it everywhere but not indestructable
I am on my second S5. And I have grown used to having one in my pocket. It is about the same size as a wallet and ever so useful. The first one died after 11 months of very hard use, the screen went blank and though it still will take pictures it is hard to tell what you have in the frame. No real complaints with it it been dropped more than a first grader playing catch. The second one has developed a dark spot in the picture a day after the end of warranty. It had not been dropped or juggled nearly as much and it still works.

Things I love about this camera:
Size and shape, it goes everywhere in my front pants pocket, coat and shirt (careful with the shirt or it comes out when you bend over.) The number Good pictures I have because I carried this thing make it worth all its quirks.
The lens is clear under the right conditions.

Cautions:
Focus. You have to go slow let it pick its spot before you actually do the picture. Don't hurry it.
It does not like low light.
Because it is so light and small it is hard to hold steady. I use the self timer all the time on hand held shots.
when the lens cover starts to stick use a vacume so suck out the dust as you turn it on and off a couple of times.
I would get the leather case, it might add some time to its life.

Nice pictures, but it did leave spots occasionally
I received the camera as a gift. I checked the reviews on the camera and heard about the dots on the pictures (I also read that's why Nikon discontinued this model). Sure enough, after only a few days of use, I had dots in about 5% of the pictures. I didn't want to risk it getting worse, so I returned the camera while it was still under the 30 day warranty. It took amazing pictures, and I hated to part with it, but it's not worth the risk of having to deal with a manufacturer later.

I like Fuji Finepix.

I bought my Fujifilm Finepix Z20fd to upgrade from a Finepix F440 with only 4.1 pixels and fewer features. The F440 has been a great camera and I will keep it for a second camera. Both cameras are very small and easily fit into my purse. I like to have a camera with me at all times. You never know when you may see a great shot. Most of my photos are from travel and kids. The photos are super. I like the Face Detection and Red-Eye Removal features. The videos are great, too. This is a great little camera. I recommend it. I have owned Canon cameras before but am extremely satisfied with Fujipix.

Digital Camera
Bought the camera for my daughter. She loves it, and she uses it with her Toshiba laptop. It fits like a glove.

Ideal Camera
I bought this for daughter because the lens does not extend when focusing and therefore much more likely she will not break it. So far very good. The video is very good and the pictures superb. I admit I don't have the golden eye but every one in my family is pleased. A large viewer is a bonus as is the bright blue color.

A definite buy.

DIGIC III Image Processor

Great photos
This little camera does a great job taking photos- even with existing light. Its relatively light weight and small, at least compared to my previous Canon and the large screen means I can take photos without finding my glasses! I'm not very technical so this is an easy to use and rewarding camera- the photos are great! Battery life a little short, but that's so far a small drawback for the results I'm getting in great photos.

Kodak Easyshare CX7300
I love this camera! I have had it for 5+ years and it is still going strong. It takes wonderful pictures indoors and out. The only thing I don't like about it is that the camera flash is very bright. Eventually I will get a new camera and give this one to my daughter. It does everything I want it to do. It isn't my first digital camera but it is my best one so far. The batteries do wear out quickly. I love the rechargable batteries from Kodak. I have only had to replace them once in all the years I have had it. I would definitely recommend this camera. Good, reliable camera!
I've had this camera for 4 years, it was the first digital camera I had, and it was actually won by my father in a contest.

It has held up very well, after being dropped more than once, and works well in all weather conditions. It does also take good, clear pictures for being only 3.2 megapixels. There is some downsides to it, though. It doesn't have many features, as far as settings, and it doesn't have a manual zoom. It also has no LCD screen to take the picture, so you have to take it through the viewfinder. I can't even count how many times the camera has been used by someone other than myself, and I have to tell them not to look through the screen and to look through the viewfinder, or they ask me why they aren't seeing the picture as their taking it. I usually tried to tell people beforehand, but in some situations, the camera was used quickly and I couldn't. I've also found that even with the red eye reduction feature on, I've often gotten red eye in my photos. The batteries are also an issue. AA alkaline batteries don't last very long at all in it (of course battery brand also may have something to do with that) and the Kodak rechargable NiMH battery was a total waste of money, as it never stayed charged for long at all and was really frustrating, as it would always die at the worst times. I stopped using that one after the first year or so of having the camera. The best batteries for it are the AA digital batteries.

Overall, the camera ia very good for what it is and does take good, clear, everyday photos. It's a nice little camera that I'll keep as a backup, even now that I own other digatal camera(s).

Hardy & Limited
I find this camera a little frustrating at times because it is so limited when it comes to settings. It's horrible for pictures indoors but works OK outdoors. You can't manually zoom! That is something I can't stand about this camera.

I often have troubles with the flash and
it would be nice if the screen was bigger.

I got this camera used so maybe this is caused by it's previous use but when I press the button it takes around ten seconds to take the picture. In a situation when I'm trying to capture something moving this can get annoying.

I wouldn't recommend this camera.

Some things I do like is how simple and easy it is to use as well as it's durability.
I've had this camera for a little over two years and I've dropped it several times and have even gotten it a little wet a few times and it still works fine.

Not a very good deal
I bought a TGL-1 and TGL-2M on a friends advice. I can live with the camera being slow when taking pictures. But having to replace the batteries every 2 weeks after taking at the most 100 pictures on each camera got old very fast. They are both sitting in the closet. I'm not interested in spending another $60 to see if their 12 volt battery works any better..

Not bad for the price but a little more money will get you more.
I have both the Wildview and the Wildview II. Both have functioned flawlessly.

The Wildview is okay for the price that I paid. I have tried different brands of 35mm game/trail cameras with almost no success. They either did not wind correctly or did not rewind as indicated, thereby exposing the film. Then you toss in the cost of film and development just to see a what kind or how many deer are in an area, it gets very expensive. With the digital Wildview I have never had a problem with battery life or function of the camera. I can take hundreds of digital pictures for a couple of dollars in batteries. I would spend hundreds of dollars for the same amount of pictures on a 35mm game cam that may or may not even come out.

There are two main problems with the Wildview. First is the resolution. It does not take the best pictures in the world but I use it for a deer cam and it fills the need. I can easily see how big the deer are and count points on a buck. I do not take the pictures to keep and only to scout. For that purpose, the Wildview is okay. If that is what you are looking for it is worth the small price. If you are looking for a high quality camera to have some really nice wild shots of game, don't even bother with this one as you will be very disappointed.

The second problem is that it does not have the date and time stamp on it. The Wildview II that I bought later does and also has a much nicer picture quality. As I stated earlier, I deer hunt and the time of day and phase of the moon are important to me. Without the time and date, I have no way of judging when the game is moving in my area.

The bottom line:
If you just want to see what is coming across a trail or lurking near a feeder with no intent of keeping the pictures, this camera will do for a very small price. I have left mine out for a month with a 256MB SD card and had literally hundreds of pics on it. If you want a high quality game cam or the time and date stamp on it, by all means look elsewhere.

Extremely poor resolution
Not sure what camera the previous reviewer was talking about. This camera is digital, not film.

It has no problem triggering on motion, and it 'wakes up' from sleep mode in just a few seonds. But my dissatisfaction comes from the extremely poor resolution of this camera. It can easily be misread as having 3 Megapixels but it actually has 300,000 pixels - a reduction of 90%. The results are extremely grainy pictures. Count me as very dissatisfied.
